Soluble and Insoluble Dietary Fiber Consumption and Colorectal Cancer Risk: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Mehmet Emin Arayici et al.

Summary: The meta-analysis results suggest that there is a similar association between soluble and insoluble dietary fiber intake and the risk of colorectal cancer. The study indicates that dietary fiber plays an important role in reducing CRC risk, especially through the consumption of both soluble and insoluble fiber.

Effects of soluble fiber supplementation on glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus: A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

Yajuan Xie et al.

Summary: This study conducted a meta-analysis of 29 RCTs and found that soluble fiber supplementation significantly improved glycemic control and BMI levels in patients with type 2 diabetes, with a recommended daily dosage of 7.6-8.3 grams. Further long-term and high-quality RCTs are needed due to substantial heterogeneity in most pooled estimates.

Dietary Fiber Intake and Risk of Pancreatic Cancer: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Observational Studies

Daniele Nucci et al.

Summary: Dietary fiber intake reduces the risk of pancreatic cancer, especially among women, and the strength of the association increases when case-control studies are conducted. Policymakers and clinicians should promote interventions to increase awareness of high-fiber diets in the population, both in practice and in public health policy.
