Index-based analysis of industrial structure and environmental efficiency based on sewage discharge assessment in China

Haoran Wei et al.

Summary: The study revealed that there is a significant relationship between urban sewage discharge scale and environmental regulatory status, with larger scale observed when pollution is highly correlated with spatial characteristics. Additionally, regional differences impact discharge efficiency, with longer distances between cities in central regions and provincial capitals leading to lower efficiency.

Deciphering the role of β-phase Bi2O3 nanorods incorporated on g-C3N4 nanosheets for efficient pollutant removal

Aashna Nagar et al.

Summary: In this study, β-Bi2O3/g-C3N4 nanosheets were fabricated through the in-situ precipitation process. The nanosheets exhibited a flaky structure with a small bandgap and less recombination capacity. A mesoporous structure with a large surface area was obtained via BET N-2 adsorption-desorption technique. The composite showed high degradation efficiency attributed to the heterojunction between Bi2O3 nanorods and g-C3N4 nanosheets. The pH and catalyst concentration studies demonstrated the optimization of degradation efficiency.

Synthesis of MoS2/P-g-C3N4 nanocomposites with enhanced visible-light photocatalytic activity for the removal of uranium (VI)

Zifan Li et al.

Summary: MoS2 and P doped g-C3N4 nanocomposites (MPCN) were prepared by ultrasonic chemical method, enhancing visible light absorption and accelerating charge transfer. The 3% MoS2 MPCN showed the highest photocatalytic performance, with a reduction rate 5.6 times higher than pure g-C3N4. The reduction of U(VI) was activated by both photoinduced electrons and O-center dot(2)- radicals, forming (UO2) O-2 center dot 2H(2)O species.

Novel 2D/2D g-C3N4/Bi4NbO8Cl nano-composite for enhanced photocatalytic degradation of oxytetracycline under visible LED light irradiation

Ankush Majumdar et al.

Summary: A novel visible-light-responsive 2D/2D g-C3N4/Bi4NbO8Cl nano-composite photocatalyst was successfully synthesized and demonstrated high photocatalytic degradation efficiency towards oxytetracycline. The improved performance can be attributed to the formation of a type-II heterojunction, which enhances visible light absorption and reduces recombination of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. Additionally, the nano-composite exhibited good stability after multiple cycles of degradation experiments, showing potential for low-cost and energy-efficient environmental remediation applications.

Facile synthesis of cobalt doped BiOCl ultrathin nanosheets as superior photocatalyst for degradation of carbamazepine under visible light

Xiaoya Gao et al.

Summary: Novel cobalt-doped bismuth oxychloride ultrathin nanosheets (BiOCl-Co-T) were successfully synthesized via a tetrabutylammonium hydroxide (TBAOH) assisted hydrolysis method at room temperature, showing enhanced visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity due to expanded light absorption region and facilitated photogenerated carrier separation. The degradation efficiency of the persistent contaminant carbamazepine (CBZ) over BiOCl-Co-T was significantly improved compared to BiOCl-Co and BiOCl-T, suggesting its potential as a visible light-driven photocatalyst with ultrathin nanosheets structure.
