Sulfonium closo-hydridodecaborate anions as active components of a potentiometric membrane sensor for lidocaine hydrochloride

A. S. Kubasov et al.

Summary: A method for preparing sulfonium derivatives of closo-hydridodecaborate anions with exo-polyhedral alkyl groups has been developed, along with a procedure for preparing mono-S-substituted derivatives through interaction with secondary alkyl halides. The sulfonium derivative has been studied as an active component for a lidocaine-selective sensor, with optimal membrane composition identified and a detection limit of 3.5 . 10(-8) M determined.

Noncovalent interactions in perchlorinated sulfonium and ammonium derivatives of closo-decaborate anion: 35Cl NQR and crystal structure

E. A. Kravchenko et al.

Summary: Three salts of perchlorinated sulfonium and ammonium derivatives of tetrabuthylammonium nonachloro-closo-decaborate were synthesized and characterized using various spectroscopic methods to investigate noncovalent interactions involving chlorine atoms. A comparison with X-ray diffraction analysis was made, revealing differences in crystal lattice dynamics and Cl-35 NQR spectra among the salts.

Theoretical Study of closo-Borate Anions [BnHn]2- (n=5-12): Bonding, Atomic Charges, and Reactivity Analysis

Ilya N. Klyukin et al.

Summary: This study focused on the analysis of structure, bonding, and reactivity of closo-borate anions [BnHn](2-) (n = 5-12). It was found that descriptors like electron density and total energy at bond critical point are useful for investigating B-H interactions. Orbital interactions in [BnHn](2-) were observed to increase with boron cluster size. Atomic charges of the boron atoms were found to vary with their positions, with boron atoms in apical positions having more negative values. Global and local reactivity descriptors were calculated, showing [BnHn](2-) (n = 5-9) to be strong and moderate electrophiles, while [BnHn](2-) (n = 10-12) were marginal electrophiles. Fukui functions for electrophilic attack were also computed, with boron atoms in apical positions having the most positive values.

Aleksei Golubev et al.

Summary: A method has been developed for obtaining perchlorinated di-S,S-substituted derivatives of the closo-decaborate anion with various alkyl groups. The process involves alkylation of the anion with bromoalkanes followed by cluster chlorination with sulfuryl chloride in acetonitrile, resulting in complete replacement of hydrogen atoms with chlorine within 60 hours. The melting point of the salts strongly depends on the length of the hydrocarbon chain of the substituent R.

Upgrade of a Bruker NMR Spectrometers Using a Modern Digital Base

S. V. Zhurenko et al.

Summary: A method has been developed to upgrade old nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometers to modern digital bases, replacing analog signal processing with digital processing while preserving standard RF components. This upgrade significantly improves maintainability and reliability of the spectrometer and increases sensitivity of signal-to-noise ratio in certain samples.
