A Comprehensive Review on Membrane Fouling: Mathematical Modelling, Prediction, Diagnosis, and Mitigation

Nour AlSawaftah et al.

Summary: Membrane fouling is a major obstacle in membrane separation processes, with different types including particulate, organic, inorganic, and biofouling. Factors influencing fouling propensity include surface morphology, roughness, hydrophobicity, and material of fabrication. Efficient prediction techniques and diagnostics are crucial for minimizing fouling damage in membranes.
