First Report of Crown Gall of Kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa) Caused by Agrobacterium fabacearum in China and the Establishment of Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification Technique

Summary: The crown gall disease of kiwifruit was discovered in Guizhou Province, China, and the bacteria causing the disease, A. fabacearum, were characterized. A Loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) analysis was developed for the specific detection of A. fabacearum, which showed high sensitivity and easy detection. This study offers a rapid, accurate, and sensitive method for the early diagnosis of crown gall disease of kiwifruit.

Morphological and molecular observations were consistent with previous reports of P. actinidiae causing sooty spot disease on kiwifruit.
