Label-Free Electrochemiluminescence Imaging of Single-Cell Adhesions by Using Bipolar Nanoelectrode Array

Xiang Qin et al.

Summary: A label-free and fast approach is proposed for positive ECL imaging of single cells using a bipolar nanoelectrode array. By generating oxygen in situ and taking advantage of steric hindrance to enhance contrast, cell morphology and adhesion strength can be successfully imaged with high image acquisition rate. This method opens a new avenue for label-free imaging of single cells.

Wireless Dual Stimuli Actuation of Dye Sensitized Conducting Polymer Hybrids

Ambrose Ashwin Melvin et al.

Summary: An actuator controlled by light and electric field in a synergistic manner was reported, allowing for better control and a wider range of potential applications, especially in soft robotics. The actuator demonstrated reversible actuation in an aqueous solution through electrochemical reactions, leading to controlled motion based on logic gate operations. Such synergistic switching enables the development of original actuation schemes for complex mechanical tasks triggered by multiple stimuli.
