Light-Controlled Regioselective Synthesis of Fullerene Bis-Adducts

Luka Dordevic et al.

Summary: The study focused on the multi-functionalization and isomer-purity of fullerenes, presenting a light-responsive tether with azobenzene photoswitch for controlling the synthesis and distribution of bis-adducts. The results provide a new approach for controlling the covalent bis-functionalization of C60 through regulating the azobenzene photoswitch.

Isocyanide-Induced Annulation Leading to Cyclopento-, Methano-, and Cyclopentano-[60]Fullerene Derivatives

Yanbang Li et al.

Summary: The three-component annulation reactions of C-60 with alkyl isocyanide and DMAD or unsymmetric alkynes produced cyclopent-2-en-1-imino- and ketenimine methano-[60]fullerene derivatives, which can be further hydrated to yield the corresponding fullerene amides. The four-component annulation with C-60, alkyl isocyanide, water, and allene counterparts of DMAD resulted in cyclopentano-[60]fullerene derivatives with similar amide groups.

An Umpolung Relay Strategy: One-Pot, Twice Polarity Inversion Cascade Synthesis of Diversified [60]Fulleroindoles

Xin-Rui Chen et al.

Summary: This research presents a novel synthesis method for a diverse range of [60]fulleroindole derivatives using an umpolung relay strategy, involving a one-pot, twice polarity inversion cascade of C-60 via carbanion and carbocation polarity reversed relay pathway.
