Can nano PZT-OPC composites be used as a smart γ-ray attenuator?

M. E. A. Eid et al.

Summary: The study investigates the effects of PZT on the properties of composite materials, showing that PZT retards the hydration process of cement and may improve mechanical properties. The 50% PZT-OPC composite sample exhibits the highest gamma-ray mass attenuation coefficient, making it suitable for use as a smart shield.

Analysis of positron profiling data using e+DSc computer code

Jerzy Dryzek

Summary: The Green's function method was used to solve the one-dimensional positron diffusion equation for a system with defects of different trapping rates, up to four layers. Analytical relationships were obtained for evaluating data from variable energy positron measurements, implemented in user-friendly free computer code. Fitting strategies were presented for extracting relevant physical parameters, with the code used to determine positron diffusion length in various samples.

Investigation of the interaction between hydrogen and irradiation defects in titanium by using positron annihilation spectroscopy

Xudong An et al.

Summary: The study investigated the formation of hydrogen-vacancy complexes and vacancy-like defects in pure titanium irradiated with H ions at different doses and temperatures. It was found that increasing irradiation temperature led to a decrease in vacancy cluster size and effective open volume of defects. High temperature irradiation decreased the concentration of vacancy-type defects and promoted the formation of hydrogen-vacancy complexes in the track region. Increased radiation dose and temperature contributed to the formation of hydrogen vacancy-complexes and facilitated the detection of hydrogen-related information through positron annihilation in high-momentum regions.

Phase transformations in FeCo - Fe2CoO4/Co3O4-spinel nanostructures as a result of thermal annealing and their practical application

M. V. Zdorovets et al.

Summary: This research found that the formation of oxide spinel structures of type Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 through thermal annealing can increase the number of cycles for nanotubes by 1.5-1.7 times. The effectiveness of increasing the lifetime of anode materials is attributed to the enhanced resistance to degradation of Fe2CoO4/Co3O4 structures, leading to the acceleration of lithation processes.

Summary: By incorporating nano fillers into epoxy resin, the dynamic mechanical properties of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymers are significantly enhanced, especially at a 6% weight of nano fillers. Graphene nano fillers exhibit better dispersion and phase integrity compared to Multi Walled Carbon Nano Tubes.
