Polycarbazole-multiwalled carbon nanotubes based nanocomposite: Synthesis, spectral, biocidal and Acetaldehyde sensing studies

Huma Kausar et al.

Summary: In this study, functionalization of multi-walled carbon nanotubes using an oxidation method was reported, leading to the preparation of an electrically conducting polycarbazole-multiwalled carbon nanotubes nanocomposite. Various spectroscopic techniques were utilized to characterize the nanocomposite, indicating strong interaction between polycarbazole and multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The nanocomposite exhibited enhanced thermal stability and electrical conductivity, and showed potential for use in detecting acetaldehyde as well as biocidal activity.

Summary: In this study, Molecular Dynamics simulations were used to investigate the adsorption behavior of an anticancer drug Dacarbazine onto the inner and outer surfaces of pristine and Functionalized Carbon Nanotubes. The results showed the spontaneous encapsulation of DAC molecules into the cavities of CNTs and FCNTs, with the arrangement being controlled by p-p interactions.

Carboxylated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-COOH)-intercalated graphene oxide membranes for highly efficient treatment of organic wastewater

Wen-Juan Zeng et al.

Summary: Composite membranes of GO/CNTs with fine hierarchical nanostructure were successfully fabricated by intercalation of MWCNTs-COOH into GO nanosheets, showing efficient organic wastewater treatment with high rejection and permeated flux towards methylene blue dye solutions. The membranes exhibited nearly 10-fold water permeated flux improvement compared to pristine GO membranes, with electrostatic interaction and size exclusion effects contributing to the efficient separation properties against different types of dyes and organic molecules.
