Spectroscopic ellipsometry and solar cell performance of Cs-doped MA0.05FA0.95Pb(I0.98Br0.02)3 triple cation perovskite thin films for solar cell applications

A. M. El-naggar et al.

Summary: The influence of CsI doping on thin films was explored, showing that 2% Cs doping can improve short-circuit current density and open-circuit potential, while further Cs doping reduces these parameters. Fill factor and power conversion efficiency slightly increase with 2% Cs doping but decrease with higher Cs amounts.

Phase-Pure Engineering for Efficient and Stable Formamidinium-Based Perovskite Solar Cells

Xue Dong et al.

Summary: Formamidinium lead triiodide (FAPbI(3)) is a promising active material for perovskite solar cells due to its narrow bandgap, broad light absorption spectra, and high thermal stability. However, the formation of the unstable nonperovskite phase is a major obstacle for its commercialization. This review summarizes various strategies to stabilize FAPbI(3) and discusses methods for preparing high-efficiency FAPbI(3) perovskite films. Future research directions for reproducible and large-area FAPbI(3)-based photovoltaics are also proposed.

Efficient perovskite solar cells via improved carrier management

Jason J. Yoo et al.

Summary: Metal halide perovskite solar cells have shown great potential to disrupt the silicon solar cell market with their improved performance, yet still face limitations in light-harvesting due to charge carrier recombination. Efforts to enhance charge carrier management offer a path to increase device performance and approach the theoretical efficiency limit of PSCs.

Crystal stabilization of α-FAPbI3 perovskite by rapid annealing method in industrial scale

Govindhasamy Murugadoss et al.

Summary: This study introduced a facile sequential rapid annealing method to produce highly stable photoactive alpha-FAPbI(3) perovskite on an industrial scale at room temperature. The experimental results demonstrate that the additive-free preparation method is more suitable for preparing high-quality perovskite for optoelectronic applications.

Unraveling the influence of CsCl/MACl on the formation of nanotwins, stacking faults and cubic supercell structure in FA-based perovskite solar cells

Huyen T. Pham et al.

Summary: The addition of CsCl/MACl additives has been found to stabilize the cubic FAPbI3 perovskite, leading to a lattice contraction and changes in the optical bandgap. This results in reduced defects, improved photoluminescence yield, and enhanced device performance, with a maximum efficiency of 21.98% measured for the 10 mol% CsCl perovskite layer.
