Evaluation of the morphology and pore characteristics of silica refractory using X-ray computed tomography

Jiahang Fan et al.

Summary: The study found that the porosity of silica refractory was mainly composed of interconnected pores, with a small proportion of closed pores after long-term use. The ruptured particles and interconnected pores provided channels for the migration of liquid at high temperatures in the brick. The refractory presented a homogeneous ceramic structure during long-term operation.

Stereolithography additive manufacturing of multi-ceramic triangle structures with tunable thermal expansion

Keqiang Zhang et al.

Summary: This study developed multi-ceramic structures with tunable thermal expansion, including NTE, ZTE, and PTE, using stereolithography additive manufacturing technology. Functionally gradient ceramic layers were used to release thermal mismatch stress, and the thermal expansion behavior was characterized using a homemade testing system. The proposed design, fabrication, and characterization methods are expected to promote engineering applications.
