Mechanical properties and dynamic constitutive relation of lightweight shale ceramsite concrete

Xiaogang Wu et al.

Summary: The strength increasing rule of LWSCC during freezing construction was studied. It was found that LWSCC had a stronger anti-freezing ability and the strength growth was sensitive to curing temperature. Both quasi-static and dynamic mechanical experiments showed that the strength of LWSCC significantly increased after standard curing and cryogenic temperatures. A two-factor incremental model of the dynamic stress intensity factors and the dynamic constitutive equation of LWSCC in cryogenic temperatures were constructed.

Influence of lightweight aggregates on the physical and mechanical residual properties of concrete subjected to high temperatures

Georges Roufael et al.

Summary: This research provides a comprehensive study on the high temperature behavior of lightweight aggregate concretes, revealing that lightweight aggregates show compatibility with the mortar phase in thermal strain, resulting in fewer cracks in the interfacial transition zone. In contrast to normal weight aggregates, the behavior of lightweight aggregate concretes diverges from that of normal-weight concretes, particularly in residual permeability and tensile strength values.

Effect of heating rate on the free expansion deformation of concrete during the heating process

Qingtao Li et al.

Summary: The study found that concrete will expand and generate thermal stress when heated at high temperatures, leading to cracks that endanger the safety of the concrete. The linear expansion rate of concrete gradually increases with temperature in the range of 100-800 degrees Celsius, reaching a maximum value of 1.336%. The heating rate has a significant impact on the expansion of concrete at temperatures of 500-800 degrees Celsius.

Mechanical Behavior of Steel Fiber-Reinforced Lightweight Concrete Exposed to High Temperatures

Huailiang Wang et al.

Summary: The mechanical characteristics of steel fiber-reinforced lightweight concrete (SFLWC) under high temperatures were studied in this paper. Results showed that with increasing exposure temperature, both the axial compressive strength and the elastic modulus decreased, while the axial peak strain increased. Adding steel fibers can improve the capacity of energy absorption, specific toughness, and residual splitting tensile strength of lightweight concrete (LWC) before and after exposure to high temperatures.

Investigation of the high-temperature resistance of sludge ceramsite concrete with recycled fine aggregates and GGBS and its application in hollow blocks

Jianhe Xie et al.

Summary: The study showed that SCRC exhibited good resistance to high temperatures with a strength retention rate of over 60% after exposure to 600 degrees C. The incorporation of RFA had a slight impact on the strength retention rate of SCRC under elevated temperatures. The addition of GGBS improved the resistance of SCRC at elevated temperatures.
