Ligand-Dependent Activity Engineering of Glutathione Peroxidase-Mimicking MIL-47(V) Metal-Organic Framework Nanozyme for Therapy

Jiangjiexing Wu et al.

Summary: A ligand engineering strategy was developed to modulate the GPx-mimicking activity of a metal-organic framework (MOF) nanozyme, resulting in the rational regulation of the GPx-mimicking activities of MIL-47(V)-X MOFs. Among them, MIL-47(V)-NH2 demonstrated excellent antioxidation ability, effectively alleviating inflammatory responses in both ear injury and colitis models. This study proves the feasibility of designing high-performance GPx-mimicking nanozymes and highlights the importance of structure-activity relationships in directing in vivo therapy.

A smartphone-integrated multicolor fluorescence probe of bacterial spore biomarker: The combination of natural clay material and metal-organic frameworks

Lei Jia et al.

Summary: A novel multicolor fluorescence probe for detecting bacterial spore biomarker-dipicolinic acid (DPA) was prepared using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) functionalized palygorskite (Pal) hybrid. The probe exhibited high sensitivity with a low limit of detection and a wide linear range, and could be used for real-time detection through a smartphone application. The practicality and efficiency of the probe were verified through experiments.

Catalytic Intermolecular C(sp3)-H Amination: Selective Functionalization of Tertiary C-H Bonds vs Activated Benzylic C-H Bonds

Erwan Brunard et al.

Summary: This study reports a catalytic intermolecular amination of nonactivated tertiary C(sp(3))-H bonds using substrates with an activated benzylic site to achieve high yields of alpha, alpha, alpha-trisubstituted amides. The synergistic combination of a rhodium(II) complex and tert-butylphenol sulfamate results in selective functionalization of the tertiary C(sp(3))-H bond under mild oxidative conditions. The catalytic system is robust, requiring only 0.01 mol % of catalyst for a 50 mmol scale reaction, and the TBPhs group can be easily removed to obtain NH-free amines.
