The R2-Higgs inflation with two Higgs doublets

Sung Mook Lee et al.

Summary: We study R-2-Higgs inflation in a model with two Higgs doublets and find that the inflationary dynamics can be effectively described by a single slow-roll formalism even though four fields are involved. The parameter space favored by R-2-Higgs inflation requires nearly degenerate masses for Higgs particles. The discovery of such heavy scalars may be possible at the LHC or future lepton colliders, but high luminosity is likely needed to probe the quasi degenerate mass spectra.

Reheating in models with non-minimal coupling in metric and Palatini formalisms

Dhong Yeon Cheong et al.

Summary: We study the reheating of inflationary models with general non-minimal coupling and provide general analytic expressions for cosmological observables. By considering a wide range of nonminimal coupling and different formalisms, we derive predictions for cosmological observables and the reheating temperature with respect to a general equation of state parameter.

Baryogenesis from combined Higgs-scalar field inflation

Yann Cado et al.

Summary: We study a modification of the Higgs inflation scenario by introducing an extra scalar field phi, which is coupled to the Ricci scalar and mixed with the Higgs field h. By coupling phi to the Chern-Simons term, helical magnetic fields are generated during inflation. This model can solve the instability problem of the Standard Model and predicts modifications that can be explored at future colliders.

General double monodromy inflation

Guido D. Amico et al.

Summary: This study revisits the roller-coaster cosmology based on multiple stages of monodromy inflation and investigates its consistency with cosmic microwave background and gravity wave observations. The study finds that, after taking into account the strong coupling corrections, the modified model can be consistent with the observational data.

Relaxing inflation models with nonminimal coupling: A general study

Tatsuki Kodama et al.

Summary: In this study, we investigate the predictions of inflation models with a nonminimal coupling to gravity for inflationary observables such as the spectral index and tensor-to-scalar ratio in a general setting. Depending on the relation between the Jordan frame potential and a function characterizing the nonminimal coupling, the models can be classified into three categories, each giving distinctive predictions for the inflationary observables. We derive general predictions for each class and investigate some specific models to understand the underlying features.

Natural inflation with a nonminimal coupling to gravity

Yakefu Reyimuajia et al.

Summary: By introducing a very weak nonminimal coupling of the inflaton field to gravity, the tension between natural inflation model and recent Planck data can be alleviated, leading to good agreement between predictions and observations. The predictions of the extended model are consistent with observational data within certain parameter ranges.

Non-minimally coupled curvaton

Lei-Hua Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigates scalar cosmological perturbations generated through nonminimal coupling in two-field inflationary models with a focus on curvaton scenarios. It shows that small, negative nonminimal couplings can contribute to a redder curvature spectrum, potentially saving some curvaton scenarios that would otherwise be ruled out. The study also highlights the impact of nonminimal coupling on the postinflationary growth of the spectator perturbation and the effectiveness of the curvaton mechanism.

Rollercoaster cosmology

Guido D'Amico et al.

Summary: Inflation does not have to occur all at once, and can be solved by a series of short bursts of cosmic acceleration interrupted by brief periods of decelerated expansion. This allows for more flexibility in theory and can lead to interesting predictions regarding scalar and tensor spectra of perturbations at short wavelengths. Future CMB spectroscopy searches and primordial gravity probes may help test these features and reveal potential populations of rare particles or primordial black holes as dark matter.

Double monodromy inflation: Gravitational wave factory for CMB-S4, LiteBIRD, and LISA

Summary: The short rollercoaster cosmology model based on two stages of inflation separated by matter domination predicts enhanced production of gravity waves, particularly when the first inflaton is strongly coupled to a hidden sector. This unique model offers multiple signals simultaneously testable by a variety of gravity wave searches in the near future, including CMB experiments and LISA.
