First observations of solar disk gamma rays over a full solar cycle

Summary: This study conducts a comprehensive analysis of solar disk 7-rays using a new method and reveals certain patterns in its radiation characteristics and morphology that existing models cannot fully explain. The study also discovers an anticorrelation between solar activity and 7-ray emission, and provides strong constraints on their short-timescale variability and morphology. The findings suggest that the flux and morphology of solar disk emission are primarily controlled by strong magnetic-field effects near the solar surface, rather than modulation throughout the heliosphere.
