The effect of HIPS-g-MAH on the mechanical properties of PA66/PPO alloy

Zhenya Zhang et al.

Summary: The addition of HIPS-g-MAH compatibilizer to the PA66/PPO alloy significantly enhances the mechanical properties and reduces the tendency for brittle fracture. Moreover, as the weight ratio of HIPS-g-MAH compatibilizer increases, the crystallization temperature of the PA66/PPO alloy decreases.

Research on synthesis and self-healing properties of interpenetrating network hydrogels based on reversible covalent and reversible non-covalent bonds

Xiaowen Huang et al.

Summary: This paper introduces a self-healing hydrogel suitable for complex natural environments, incorporating disulfide bonds, acylhydrazone bonds, and hydrogen bonds. The experiment demonstrates that the hydrogel can self-heal in different environments, with the self-healing efficiency increasing over time.

The toughening mechanism of core-shell particles by the interface interaction and crystalline transition in polyamide 1012

Chenxu Zhou et al.

Summary: It was found in the study that MBS particles improve interface and stress transfer with PA1012 through physical entanglement and chemical crosslinking, enhancing toughness of the material. MBS particles weaken the loading stress of matrix as stress concentration points and are conducive to crystallization for maintaining strength and transforming to a more tough gamma-form from alpha-form. The synergistic effects between MBS and PA1012 demonstrate significantly increased toughness while maintaining original strength.

Poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether)/poly(phenylene sulfide)/styrenic block copolymer blends compatibilized with reactive polystyrene

Do Kyun Kim et al.

Summary: The design of PPE/PPS-based quaternary blends with increased impact strength was achieved through the introduction of reactive polystyrene (RPS) as a compatibilizer, which improved the miscibility between the discrete PPE domain and continuous PPS matrix phases, resulting in extraordinary impact strength without significant loss of mechanical and flame-retardant properties.
