Spherical aggregated BN /AlN filled silicone composites with enhanced through-plane thermal conductivity assisted by vortex flow

Hongyu Niu et al.

Summary: A-BN/AlN/SR composites with enhanced through-plane thermal conductivity were fabricated with the assistance of vortex flow during the planetary centrifugation process. The high thermal conductivity was mainly attributed to the large-sized spherical BN interconnected structure, providing an efficient thermally conductive path in the through-plane direction.

Oriented BN/Silicone rubber composite thermal interface materials with high out-of-plane thermal conductivity and flexibility

Qinghua Hu et al.

Summary: The study presents a method for preparing silicone rubber-based composites with high out-of-plane thermal conductivity and softness, with an out-of-plane thermal conductivity of 7.62 Wm(-1) K-1. Finite element simulation analysis indicates that the increase in thermal conductivity is attributed to the orientation of the BN flakes and the formation of the thermal network.

Flexible and insulating silicone rubber composites with sandwich structure for thermal management and electromagnetic interference shielding

Yongqiang Guo et al.

Summary: This work focuses on the development of CF@Fe2O3/(BN/SR) composites with excellent thermal conductivity, electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding performance, and electrical insulation properties. The sandwich structure of CF@Fe2O3/(BN/SR) composites contributes to effective EMI shielding by absorption-reflection-reabsorption of electromagnetic waves, while BN/SR and CF@Fe2O3 layers enhance thermal conductivity and electrical insulation, respectively. The composites show higher performance in terms of thermal conductivity, EMI shielding effectiveness, volume resistance, and breakdown strength compared to conventional CF/(BN/SR) composites. The CF@Fe2O3/(BN/SR) composites also exhibit better cooling effect than commercial silicon grease in computer testing platforms, indicating promising applications in electronics.
