Atomic insights of Cu nanoparticles melting and sintering behavior in Cu-Cu direct bonding

Rui Wu et al.

Summary: By simulating the behavior of copper nanoparticles, it was found that smaller nanoparticles are less stable and have shorter sintering times. Therefore, synthesizing copper nanoparticles with a diameter of 2 nm can further reduce the temperature and time required for Cu-Cu direct bonding.

General strategy for yolk-shell nanospheres with tunable compositions by applying hollow carbon nanospheres

Gi Dae Park et al.

Summary: A new and general strategy for fabricating yolk-shell nanospheres with tunable compositions under mild vacuum conditions was proposed in this study. Various yolk-shell structures, including TMO@void@TMO-C and TMO-C@void@TMO-C, were synthesized by controlling the vacuum degree for metal salt infiltration. The method facilitated in tuning internal and external compositions was validated with supporting data, and unique structured nanospheres exhibited excellent lithium-ion storage performance.
