Graphene-Based Tunable Broadband Polarizer for Infrared Frequency

Vishal Sorathiya et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a tunable graphene-assisted polarizer structure operating in the infrared frequency range. The structure can achieve tunable polarization by adjusting the Fermi energy, and it exhibits high reflection amplitude and strong polarization amplitude.

Quantum critical behaviour in magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene

Alexandre Jaoui et al.

Summary: This study presents transport measurements in superconducting MATBG, where the correlated insulator states are suppressed by screening. The uninterrupted metallic ground state exhibits linear resistivity and Planckian scattering rates. A quantum-critical phase dominates the metallic ground state in a continuum of doping.

Strained bilayer graphene, emergent energy scales, and moire gravity

Alireza Parhizkar et al.

Summary: Twisted bilayer graphene is a rich condensed matter system that can be mathematically described as a diffeomorphism in a continuum formulation. The low-energy physics of strained bilayer graphene takes the form of fermions tunneling between two curved space-times. Conformal transformation of the metrics results in emergent moire energy scales, which can be much lower than those in the native theory. Building on these observations, we present a toy construction of moire gravity with an arbitrarily small effective cosmological constant.

Inelastic scattering and cooling of photoexcited electrons through coupling with acoustic, optic, and surface polar optic phonons in graphene

S. Arshia Khatoon et al.

Summary: The paper investigates the relative significance of the three important phononic modes in electron scattering and cooling phenomena, providing analytical formulas for energy dependence of electron-phonon scattering rates and cooling power. The obtained formulas offer insight into the dynamics of hot electron phenomena and can potentially be useful for performance optimization in numerical optimization methods.

The influence of the laser on acoustic phonon amplification in parabolic potential well

Nguyen Tien Dung et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the applications and theoretical calculations of phonon amplification in low-dimensional material structures, using quantum kinetic equations to derive the expression for the acoustic phonon growth rate and the conditions for phonon increase. The analysis shows that the gain factor for acoustic phonons depends on temperature, amplitude, and frequency of the laser field, and numerical calculations were performed to determine the rate of acoustic phonon excitation at different temperatures.

Phonon drag thermopower and energy loss rate in single and bilayer graphene due to piezoelectric surface acoustic phonons in Bloch-Gruneisen regime

Meenhaz Ansari

Summary: This report explores the phonon drag thermopower and energy loss rate due to piezoelectric surface acoustic phonons in single and bilayer graphene, considering factors such as carrier temperature, concentration, and phonon mean free path. The results show a significant impact of the phonon modes at different temperatures, with a crossover observed between the in-plane and piezoelectric surface acoustic phonons as effective scattering channels for energy relaxation.

Bloch-Gruneisen temperature and universal scaling of normalized resistivity in doped graphene revisited

Khoe Van Nguyen et al.

Summary: Controversial issues on the Bloch-Griineisen (BG) temperature in doped graphene were resolved through analytical and numerical calculations. The commonly adopted BG temperature in graphene was found to be significantly different from values obtained by quasielastic and semi-inelastic approximations. An independent method for normalizing resistivity that depends on carrier density was introduced.
