NaTePO5, SrTeP2O8 and Ba2TeP2O9: Three tellurite-phosphates with large birefringence

Min Zhao et al.

Summary: Two new tellurite-phosphates NaTePO5, SrTeP2O8, and the previously reported Ba2TeP(2)O(9) were successfully synthesized via high-temperature solid-state reactions and their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The P-31 NMR spectra showed slightly larger electron density around phosphorus atoms in SrTeP2O8 compared to Ba2TeP(2)O(9), due to different connection modes of [TeO5] and [PO4] units. Calculated electric field strengths and birefringence values of NaTePO5, SrTeP2O8, and Ba2TeP(2)O(9) indicate differences in their properties compared to other phosphates.

Wide range color tunability and efficient energy transfer of novel NaCaGd(WO4)3:Tb3+,Eu3+ phosphors with excellent thermal stability for pc-WLEDs

Jihuan Xie et al.

Summary: A series of NaCaGd(WO4)(3):Tb3+,Eu3+ phosphors were prepared using a high temperature solid state reaction method. These phosphors showed efficient energy transfer with an up to 92.267% energy transfer efficiency when the doping concentration of Eu3+ ions reached 0.4 mol. Adjusting the Tb3+/Eu3+ doping ratio can achieve color tunability from green to red. Additionally, the phosphors exhibited excellent thermal stability with the emission intensity maintaining about 84.7% at 423 K compared to the initial temperature of 303 K.
