Altered cerebral perfusion in bipolar disorder: A pCASL MRI study

Victor Zeng et al.

Summary: Neurovascular abnormalities are relevant to the pathophysiology of bipolar disorder and can be assessed using cerebral blood flow imaging. This study found cortical gray matter CBF alterations in BD which may be related to cognitive function, suggesting neurovascular dysfunction as a possible pathophysiologic mechanism.
