Observation of 90° domain walls in relaxor ferroelectrics PMN-28.6%PT by focusing upon the CTR scattering

Kenji Ohwada et al.

Summary: The rod-shaped scattering observed in the tetragonal phase of Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O-3-28.7%PbTiO3 using backscattering setting is attributed to crystal truncation rod (CTR) scattering associated with 90-degree domain boundaries. The CTR scattering exhibits a characteristic temperature evolution, allowing for discussion on domain wall properties, particularly the temperature dependence on domain wall widths. Despite the need for abruptly truncated crystal coherence, like the 90-degree domain wall, CTR scattering is considered a powerful tool for examining domain wall properties.
