Pinibacter aurantiacus gen. nov., sp. nov., isolated from rhizospheric soil of a pine tree

Md Amdadul Huq et al.

Summary: A novel bacterial strain MAH-26(T) was isolated from rhizospheric soil of a pine tree, displaying unique characteristics such as growth at specific temperature and pH ranges, distinctive genetic makeup, and formation of a distinct phylogenetic lineage within the family Chitinophagaceae. This strain has been proposed as a new genus and species, Pinibacter aurantiacus gen. nov., sp. nov., with an identified draft genome size and key metabolic properties.

Phnomibacter ginsenosidimutans gen. nov., sp. nov., a novel glycoside hydrolase positive bacterial strain with ginsenoside hydrolysing activity

Muhammad Zubair Siddiqi et al.

Summary: A novel glycoside hydrolase-producing bacterial strain (SB-02(T)) was isolated from wastewater samples and identified as Phnomibacter ginsenosidimutans gen. nov., sp. nov. Functional analysis showed that SB-02(T) can hydrolyze ginsenosides Rb1, Rc and Rd to F2 and C-K, indicating potential for mass production of minor ginsenosides. The strain's genome annotation revealed the presence of numerous glycoside hydrolase genes, suggesting its usefulness for future research and production of bioactive compounds.
