Correlation of the Structure with Performance in MEH-PPV/dPS Thin Films Illuminated during Processing

Joshua Moncada et al.

Summary: Thin films containing conjugated polymers have been used in various optoelectronic devices, with much research focusing on the impact of polymer conformation on device performance. White light exposure can alter the morphology and photoluminescence of films composed of MEH-PPV and PS. This study demonstrates that illumination during annealing can affect the PL of MEH-PPV/PS films, with higher MEH-PPV loading leading to less variation in PL with illumination.

The Photostability of Novel Boron Hydride Blue Emitters in Solution and Polystyrene Matrix

Jakub Sevcik et al.

Summary: The study showed that boron hydride compound anti-B18H22 and its derivatives have high luminescent efficiencies in solutions but perform poorly in solid polymer films. This research discusses the possible challenges of using these compounds in polymer films and evaluates their photophysical properties.

Temperature dependence of vibrational motions of thin polystyrene films by infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy: A single measurement tool for monitoring of glass transition and temperature history

Barbora Hanulikova et al.

Summary: The study investigated the temperature-dependent changes of polystyrene thin films using polarization-modulated infrared reflection-absorption spectroscopy, revealing specific changes in individual spectral regions and their relation to the processing and thermal history of the thin film. The different behaviors of spectral regions were rationalized by considering the contribution of vibrational free volume to the total free volume of the system, influenced by the nature of functional groups.

Energy resolved-electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigation of the role of Al-doped ZnO nanoparticles in electronic structure modification of polymer nanocomposite LEDs

Jakub Sevcik et al.

Summary: The work focuses on power efficiency and luminance of polymer light-emitting diodes (PLED) based on polymer matrix and nanoparticulate filler. The addition of Al-doped ZnO nanoparticles significantly improved the performance of the diodes, enhancing eleclroluminescence intensity and luminance. The effects of nanoparticulate doping are related to electronic band structure affected by the addition of nanoparticles.
