Entropy generation optimization of unsteady radiative hybrid nanofluid flow over a slippery spinning disk

Nilankush Acharya et al.

Summary: This analysis investigates the entropy generation of hybrid nanofluidic transport over an unsteady spinning disk. The study considers the magnetic influence, velocity slips, and thermal radiative effects in the flow. The results show that increasing the magnetic field value increases the entropy generation, while velocity slip, radiation, and nanoparticle concentration reduce it. The entropy production of the hybrid nanofluid is lower compared to the usual nanofluid. The magnetic parameter reduces the Bejan number, while the slip factor and nanoparticle concentration amplify its effects.

A three-dimensional flow of an Oldroyd-B liquid with magnetic field and radiation effects: An application of thermophoretic particle deposition

Yinyin Wang et al.

Summary: This research investigates the mass and heat transport phenomenon in 3D flow of Oldroyd-B fluid with the effects of Soret and Dufour. Thermal radiation and magnetic force are also considered. Numerical calculations using the Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg scheme show that increasing Deborah number improves temperature rate, while increasing Soret number enhances mass transport. On the other hand, increasing radiative variable improves heat transport rate, but increasing Dufour number has the opposite effect.

Insight into the motion of water conveying three kinds of nanoparticles shapes on a horizontal surface: Significance of thermo-migration and Brownian motion

S. Saleem et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the dynamics of water colloidal mixtures with three different types of nanoparticles. The results show that increasing the density of spherical nanoparticles decreases friction and accumulation of species, but increases the mass transfer rate near the wall. Additionally, increased thermo-migration of nanoparticles decreases the Nusselt number, while increased Brownian motion decreases heat transfer and temperature distribution but increases mass transfer.

Results showed that using nanolubricants significantly increased load-carrying capacity, maximum pressure, and friction force, with these parameters increasing with the power law index. The study also found that elastic deformation had a minimal effect on performance parameters.

Entropy minimization in mixed convective Falkner-Skan flow of ZnO-SAE50 nanolubricant over stationary/moving Riga plate

M. K. Nayak et al.

Summary: This study analyzes the mixed convection non-linear Falkner-Skan flow and heat flux of ZnO-SAE50 nanolubricant on a Riga plate, considering thermal radiation, velocity, and thermal slip boundary conditions. The results show that increased pressure gradient impedes the motion of nanolubricant, while amplification of modified Hartmann number and velocity slip at the boundary reverses this trend. Additionally, the growth of thermal slip weakens the heat transfer rate from the Riga plate.

Summary: This study compares the heat and mass transfer of two different combinations of hybrid nanofluids on a stretching cylinder under the influence of a magnetic dipole. The results show that increasing the ferromagnetic interaction parameter decreases velocity but increases temperature and concentration. Additionally, an increase in the ferromagnetic interaction parameter leads to a decrease in the rate of heat and mass transfer.

Comprehensive study of thermophoretic diffusion deposition velocity effect on heat and mass transfer of ferromagnetic fluid flow along a stretching cylinder

R. Naveen Kumar et al.

Summary: This study discusses the flow of a ferromagnetic viscous liquid with thermophoretic particle deposition over a stretching cylinder, taking into account a uniform heat source/sink parameter. The effects of ferromagnetic interaction parameter, heat source/sink parameter, thermophoretic parameter, and magnetic dipole on the velocity, temperature, and concentration fields are examined in detail. Results show that an increase in ferromagnetic interaction parameter leads to increased thermal gradient, while a converse trend is observed for inclined values of the heat source/sink parameter. The imposition of magnetic dipole and particle deposition have diminishing effects on the rates of heat and mass transfers.

Tae Jong Choi et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the impact of polyolester oil-based multiwalled carbon nanotube nanolubricant on both the heat dissipation in the evaporator and the power consumption of the compressor of a refrigerator. Experimental and theoretical findings show that the compressor power consumption can be reduced by up to 17% with the nanolubricant, while the evaporator's flow boiling heat transfer coefficient can be improved by approximately 5.8%. The coefficient of performance of the refrigerator is also enhanced with the nanolubricant, based on the results from the compressor power consumption and flow boiling heat transfer coefficient.
