Improving Care for Deinstitutionalized People With Mental Disorders: Experiences of the Use of Knowledge Translation Tools

Help-Seeking Patterns Among the General Population in Singapore: Results from the Singapore Mental Health Study 2016

Summary: This study aimed to establish the lifetime mental health service utilisation among the general population of Singapore and found that certain sociodemographic characteristics were correlated with different service provider groups. There was no change in mental health service utilisation between 2010 and 2016 for all mental disorders included in the study, except for a significant increase in help sought from professionals in social services among those with alcohol abuse. Despite overall low help-seeking rates, it was encouraging that individuals seeking help did so from mental health professionals and professionals working in social services.
