High-Performance Functional Fe-MOF for Removing Aflatoxin B1 and Other Organic Pollutants

Yu-Qing Liu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the efficient adsorption of organic pollutants using synthetic nanomaterials, particularly the metal-organic framework MIL-101(Fe). The experimental results demonstrate that MIL-101(Fe) has a high capacity for removing aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and exhibits diversity in adsorbing other organic dyes and pesticides. Molecular docking and interaction region indicator analysis are used to understand the interactions between AFB1 molecules and MIL-101(Fe).

Chitosan modifications for adsorption of pollutants-A review

Ismaila Olalekan Saheed et al.

Summary: Modification of chitosan through methods such as grafting and cross-linking is a promising approach for removing organic and inorganic pollutants from aqueous medium. The performance of modified chitosan for adsorption of pollutants depends largely on the modification method adopted, materials used, and adsorption experimental conditions. Cross-linking is commonly used for improving the stability of chitosan, although it may decrease adsorption capacity, but recent works have shown enhancement through grafting or incorporation of solid adsorbents before cross-linking.
