Facile fabrication of hydrogels for removal of crystal violet from wastewater

S. Faizan et al.

Summary: The study found that sodium borate cross-linked hydrogels exhibited the highest sorption capability due to having more available sites. Experimental results showed that the sorption of dye onto the hydrogels followed pseudo-second-order kinetics and Freundlich isotherm models. The sorption process was endothermic and spontaneous, accompanied with an increase in entropy after sorption.

Synthesis and characterization of xylan-gelatin cross-linked reusable hydrogel for the adsorption of methylene blue

Sai Dileep Kumar Seera et al.

Summary: Xylan and gelatin-based hydrogels were prepared using ethylene glycol diglycidyl ether cross-linker in different molar ratios, and characterized for their various properties. The hydrogel synthesized in a 5:1 molar ratio showed superior performance, with the highest adsorption capacity for methylene blue among the synthesized gels.

Sodium alginate grafted poly(N-vinyl formamide-co-acrylic acid)-bentonite clay hybrid hydrogel for sorptive removal of methylene green from wastewater

Hanif Subhan et al.

Summary: The study introduces a novel sodium alginate grafted and bentonite clay doped poly (N-vinyl formamide-co-acrylic acid-)[SA-g-p(VFA-co-AAc)/BC] hydrogel for efficient sorption of toxic dyes from industrial effluents. The hybrid material exhibited exceptional swelling (8049%) and sorption capacities (2108 mg g(-1)), making it a promising option for industrial and environmental applications. The sorption behavior of the anionic hydrogel was found to follow pseudo second order kinetic and Langmuir isotherm models, indicating chemisorption of dyes onto the hybrid material.

Crystal violet dye sorption over acrylamide/graphene oxide bonded sodium alginate nanocomposite hydrogel

Sevda Pashaei-Fakhri et al.

Summary: The study synthesized AM-SA and AM-GO-SA hydrogels successfuly and applied them for CV dye removal. The experimental results showed that adsorption efficiency is more dependent on pH, and the nanocomposite hydrogel has better adsorption capacity for CV dye.
