RNN for Repetitive Motion Generation of Redundant Robot Manipulators: An Orthogonal Projection-Based Scheme

Summary: This article addresses the issue of theoretical position error in existing repetitive motion generation (RMG) schemes for kinematic control of redundant manipulators. It proposes an orthogonal projection RMG (OPRMG) scheme that theoretically eliminates the position error by introducing an orthogonal projection method. The OPRMG scheme decouples joint space error and Cartesian space error with joint constraints considered. The corresponding new recurrent neural networks (NRNNs) are structured using the gradient descent method and velocity compensation, with theoretical analyses provided for stability and feasibility. Simulation results confirm the superiority and precise performance of the OPRMG scheme for kinematic control of redundant manipulators.
