Summary: Fosfomycin and nitrofurantoin have comparable efficacy in treating uncomplicated UTI, with no significant differences in clinical and microbiological cure rates within 4 weeks. The incidence of adverse events is higher in the fosfomycin group compared to the nitrofurantoin group.
