PLL Synchronization Stability of Grid-Connected Multiconverter Systems

Xiuqiang He et al.

Summary: This article investigates the synchronization instability of grid-connected converters and proposes methods to assess and improve the synchronization stability of the system. The study finds that the interaction between converters is detrimental to near-end converters but beneficial to far-end converters. The proposed methods are validated through hardware-in-the-loop experiments.

Transient Stability and Current Injection Design of Paralleled Current-Controlled VSCs and Virtual Synchronous Generators

Chao Shen et al.

Summary: This article investigates the advantages and challenges of paralleled current-controlled voltage source converters and virtual synchronous generators system in providing power and voltage/frequency regulation. By establishing a mathematical model and conducting theoretical analysis, a control method to improve transient stability of the system is proposed, showing better performance compared to traditional methods. The impact of CCS capacity on VSG transient stability is also discussed, with validation through Lyapunov's method and simulation/experimental results.

Large-Signal Stability of Grid-Forming and Grid-Following Controls in Voltage Source Converter: A Comparative Study

Xikun Fu et al.

Summary: This article compares the energy function models of grid-forming and grid-following controlled converters, studies the influence of system parameters, and derives large-signal stability boundaries. Grid-following converters lose stability by exhibiting a varying damping coefficient transient, which can be used as a criterion for control suitability. Simulation and experiment results validate the control criterion for different grid strength under large-signal disturbance.
