Phase De-Embedding of Narrowband Coupled-Resonator Networks by Vector Fitting

Ping Zhao

Summary: This paper presents a simple and effective method to remove the constant phase loading and transmission line from the simulated or measured S-parameter data of narrowband coupled-resonator networks using vector fitting. The phase-corrected S-parameters can be transformed into Y-parameters for rational function approximation and extraction of the coupling matrix, enabling computer-aided tuning. This technique is applicable to various narrowband coupled-resonator networks, such as microwave bandpass filters and diplexers. Examples of a simulated triple-mode bandpass filter and a measured wire-T junction diplexer are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of this new technique.

Accurate Synthesis of Extracted-Pole Filters by Topology Transformations

Steven Caicedo Mejillones et al.

Summary: This letter introduces a novel and more accurate synthesis method for inline extracted-pole low-pass prototype filters, which relies on the robustness and accuracy of coupling-matrix synthesis methods as a first step. The second step involves a transformation to obtain the desired inline extracted-pole topology. Three synthesis examples are presented to validate this novel synthesis procedure.

Unified Analytical Synthesis of Cascaded n-Tuplets Filters Including Nonresonant Nodes

Steven Caicedo Mejillones et al.

Summary: This article introduces a novel method for synthesizing low-pass prototype filters by applying a filter topology transformation using grouped node blocks. The method provides additional degree of freedom for filter synthesis and overcomes ad hoc techniques found in current literature. Several examples are presented to validate the new synthesis procedure.
