Urgency-aware optimal routing in repeated games through artificial currencies

Summary: In this paper, a fair incentive mechanism based on artificial currencies is proposed within a repeated game framework to route selfish users in a system-optimal fashion, while taking into account their temporal preferences. The study demonstrates the possibility of achieving a system-optimal solution under certain conditions, significantly reducing users' perceived discomfort compared to a centralized optimal policy.
