Optimization of the performance of bulk NiO catalyst in the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane by tuning the synthesis parameters

Yousra Abdelbaki et al.

Summary: Highly stable and selective bulk NiO catalysts have been synthesized for the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene. The optimal catalyst requires the presence of oxalic acid in the synthesis gel and calcination at low temperatures. The catalytic performance has been explained by the different physicochemical properties and isolation of oxygen species.

Active and selective nature of supported CrOx for the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane with carbon dioxide

Jian Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that the CrOx/silicalite-1 catalyst performs well in CO2-ODP reactions, with the highest yield obtained at a Cr loading of 2 wt.%;polymeric Cr6+ oxides were identified as the most active but least selective reaction sites;the deposited coke plays a dual role in reducing C3H8 conversion and increasing C3H6 selectivity.

Ethane Dehydrogenation on Single and Dual Centers of Ga-modified γ-Al2O3

Sai Praneet Batchu et al.

Summary: Density functional theory calculations and microkinetic analysis were used to investigate the efficacy of Ga-modified gamma-Al2O3 (110) surfaces for the catalytic dehydrogenation of ethane and the synergy between Ga and Al sites. It was found that doped Ga sites exhibited significantly higher catalytic activity compared to grafted Ga sites, and an increase in surface water interfered with the synergy between Al and Ga sites.

Suppressing C-C Bond Dissociation for Efficient Ethane Dehydrogenation over the Isolated Co(II) Sites in SAPO-34

Yuebing Xu et al.

Summary: The study found that ionic-state -Co-O- species are favorable for suppressing C-C bond scission in ethane dehydrogenation, while reduced Co clusters promote both C-H and C-C bond scissions. Co-based SAPO-34 catalysts prepared by different methods show variations in selectivity and stability in the reaction.

Stable Cr-MFI Catalysts for the Nonoxidative Dehydrogenation of Ethane: Catalytic Performance and Nature of the Active Sites

Sudipta De et al.

Summary: This study reports a Cr-based catalyst for efficient ethane dehydrogenation to ethylene at low temperatures, with good stability and regeneration properties. Detailed analysis shows that using all-silica MFI zeolite as a support promotes the stability of the Cr catalyst, enhancing its coke resistance.

Enhanced Catalytic Performance of Fe-containing HZSM-5 for Ethane Non-Oxidative Dehydrogenation via Hydrothermal Post-Treatment

Lizhi Wu et al.

Summary: The facile strategy of constructing Fe supported ZSM-5 (Fe/HZ5-HTS) through hydrothermal post-treatment shows superior catalytic activity and long-term stability in ethane non-oxidative dehydrogenation. The better catalytic performance is attributed to the more dispersed and exposed Fe species acting as active sites.

Mg-doped La1.6Sr0.4FeCoO6 for anaerobic oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane using surface-absorbed oxygen with tuned electronic structure

Ming Li et al.

Summary: The study investigated the use of Mg-doped LSFC as a catalyst for chemical looping oxidative dehydrogenation, which significantly increased ethylene selectivity and achieved high ethylene selectivity and ethane conversion rates. XPS and X-ray diffraction characterizations revealed that surface-absorbed peroxide played a critical role in selective ethane CL-ODH.

Catalytic conversion of light alkanes to aromatics by metal-containing HZSM-5 zeolite catalysts-A review

Dongyang Liu et al.

Summary: This paper reviews the research progress of aromatization for light alkanes on HZSM-5 zeolites and its metal-containing catalysts, focusing on the introduction of metal species and dehydrogenation mechanisms to enhance the selectivity of BTX. The interaction of Zn or Ga with HZSM-5 zeolite forms Lewis acid sites, promoting the dehydrogenation of alkanes and intermediate products to increase BTX selectivity.
