Experimental Study on Temperature Response of Different Ranks of Coal to Liquid Nitrogen Soaking

Summary: The temperature curves of coal samples under liquid nitrogen soaking can be divided into accelerated cooling stage, decelerated cooling stage, and maintained low-temperature stage. With an increase in soaking times, the time required to reach the low-temperature stage gradually shortens. The heating/cooling speed follows a logarithmic function, and the order of absolute values is lignite > bituminite > anthracite.

Experimental study on mechanical and damage characteristics of coal under true triaxial cyclic disturbance

Summary: The mechanical and damage characteristics of coal under tiered cyclic principal stresses were studied using a true triaxial test system. It was found that different principal stress cycles caused significant differences in stress-strain curves and deformation of coal. The cyclic loading or unloading of σ(2) may lead to instability and failure of coal, while residual deformation caused by σ(1) and σ(3) showed similar trends.
