Type I interferon-dependent response of zebrafish larvae during tilapia lake virus (TiLV) infection

Magdalena Widziolek et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated the susceptibility of zebrafish larvae to Tilapia lake virus (TiLV) infection, resulting in high mortality and visible pathological abnormalities. Gene expression analysis revealed upregulation of immune-related genes upon TiLV infection, and the protective role of recombinant zebrafish IFN phi 1 in the survival of infected larvae. These findings highlight the importance of type I interferon response during TiLV infection in zebrafish larvae, establishing zebrafish as a valuable model to study interactions between TiLV and fish hosts.

Progresses on three pattern recognition receptor families (TLRs, RLRs and NLRs) in teleost

Zhiwei Liao et al.

Summary: This review summarizes the research progress on TLRs/RLRs/NLRs in teleost, including their expression profiles, signaling transductions, and functions. Research shows that TLRs in teleost can sense different pathogens by forming various types of dimers, and the activity of endolysosomal TLRs is also influenced by proteolytic cleavage and pH levels.

Interactions Between Commensal Microbiota and Mucosal Immunity in Teleost Fish During Viral Infection With SVCV

Kai-Feng Meng et al.

Summary: The study compared the composition and distribution of mucosal microbiota in common carp and found significant differences between internal and external tissues. After infection with SVCV, immune-related genes were up-regulated in all mucosal tissues, while morphological changes were only observed in external tissues. The abundance of certain bacteria in mucosal tissues changed after viral infection, potentially leading to secondary bacterial infections.

The E3 Ubiquitin Ligase TRIM25 Inhibits Tembusu Virus Replication in vitro

Han Kaikai et al.

Summary: Duck Tembusu virus (DTMUV) is a newly emerging pathogenic flavivirus that has caused significant economic losses to the duck industry in China. Research shows that TRIM25 plays an antiviral role against DTMUV and may provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying host response to DTMUV infection, suggesting potential control measures for DTMUV outbreaks.
