Hepatopancreatic transcriptome analysis and humoral immune factor assays in red claw crayfish (Cherax quadricarinatus) provide insight into innate immunomodulation under Vibrio parahaemolyticus infection

Duanduan Chen et al.

Summary: The red claw crayfish is an economically and nutritionally important species. Infection by Vibrio parahaemolyticus caused hepatopancreas injury in the crayfish and changes in immune enzyme activity over time. Transcriptome analysis identified differentially expressed genes in susceptible and normal animals, and GO and KEGG analyses revealed immune-related pathways influenced by the infection.
