Finite element analysis of water-based Ferrofluid flow in a partially heated triangular cavity

Muhammad Usman et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that both horizontal and vertical velocity components increase with the length of the heating element, while the dimensionless temperature decreases in the heating domain. It is observed that a 10% increase in the volume fraction of ferroparticles increases Nusselt number by more than 12%, and a 20% increase leads to over 30% enhancement, depending on the length of the heating element. This study highlights the importance of magnetic nanoparticles in enhancing heat transfer rate in a triangular cavity.

Irreversibilities in natural convection inside a right-angled trapezoidal cavity with sinusoidal wall temperature

Zafar Hayat Khan et al.

Summary: Analysis on natural convective heat transfer in different engineering systems allows optimization of technical apparatus through numerical simulations and study of entropy generation. This research focuses on mathematical modeling of thermal convection and entropy generation in a right-angled trapezoidal cavity with sinusoidal vertical wall temperature distribution, finding that an increase in sinusoidal wall temperature amplitude results in higher average Nusselt and Bejan numbers and average entropy generation, while growth in non-uniform wall temperature wave number decreases energy transport strength and Bejan number.
