Despite the availability of extensive occupational health services, there is a clear need to better understand how to effectively reduce this burden.

Summary: There is a global burden of musculoskeletal disorders with increasing prevalence, deaths, and DALYs. In 2017, the global prevalence of cases approached 1.3 billion, with death and DALY rates of 121.3 thousand and 138.7 million, respectively. The prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders is higher in women and increases with age.
