Reassessing Sarcopenia in Hypertension: STAR and ACE Inhibitors Excel

Ayse Merve Ata et al.

Summary: Sarcopenia is highly prevalent in hypertensive older adults, and among various antihypertensive medications, ACE inhibitors appear to have favorable effects on both disorders. Only hypertension seemed to independently predict the development of sarcopenia in older adults.

DIAGNOSING SARCOPENIA: FUNCTIONAL PERSPECTIVES AND A NEW ALGORITHM FROM ISarcoPRM

Murat Kara et al.

Summary: Sarcopenia is a significant public health issue characterized by age-related muscle mass and function loss. A new diagnostic algorithm has been proposed by experts, with special attention to disorders related to the renin-angiotensin system and an emphasis on measuring anterior thigh muscle mass and function loss.
