Desorption study and reusability of raw and H2SO4 modified jujube shells (Zizyphus lotus) for the methylene blue adsorption

Noureddine El Messaoudi et al.

Summary: The study found that chemically modified jujube shells are effective in removing methylene blue dye from water. The desorption process affects the removal efficiency of methylene blue from both jujube shells and chemically modified jujube shells. The kinetic data fit a second-order model, and the thermodynamic results indicate that desorption is spontaneous and endothermic. The experiment also demonstrated the reusability of jujube shells and chemically modified jujube shells for removing methylene blue.

Regeneration of argan nutshell and almond shell using HNO3 for their reusability to remove cationic dye from aqueous solution

Mohammed El Khomri et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the efficient desorption of crystal violet dye from adsorbed argan nutshell and almond shell using nitric acid as a desorbing agent, with excellent regeneration reusability for multiple consecutive adsorption-desorption cycles. The nitric acid solution at 0.1 M concentration was found to be the most effective eluent for desorbing CV from the adsorbents, with high desorption efficiency. Argan nutshell and almond shell show great potential as low-cost, eco-friendly adsorbents for the removal of CV in consecutive adsorption-desorption cycles.

Antimicrobial nanocomposite adsorbent based on poly(meta-phenylenediamine) for remediation of lead (II) from water medium

Fatemeh Bandavi Kheyrabadi et al.

Summary: In this study, a PmPDA@ZnO nanocomposite was synthesized and its adsorption performance for lead(II) was investigated. The results showed that the PmPDA@ZnO nanocomposite had excellent adsorption capacity and thermal stability, and could be regenerated and reused. Furthermore, the nanocomposite exhibited antimicrobial activities, making it a promising candidate for water decontamination.

Desorption of Congo red from dye-loaded Phoenix dactylifera date stones and Ziziphus lotus jujube shells

Noureddine El Messaoudi et al.

Summary: The study found that NaOH eluent had the best desorption effect, with desorption efficiency increasing with the increase in volume and concentration of eluent, contact time, and temperature. The maximum desorption efficiency of CR from DS-CR was as high as 92.89%, while for JS-CR it was 86.27%.
