Characteristics of aerosol chemical components and their impacts on direct radiative forcing at urban and suburban locations in Southeast Texas

Sang-Keun Song et al.

Summary: The research investigated the characteristics of four aerosol components in Southeast Texas, revealing differences in concentration, AOD, and DRF across different locations and months. The water-soluble component was found to be the main contributor to DRF, with variations in the monthly patterns of AOD among the aerosol components.

Deep Learning Estimation of Daily Ground-Level NO2 Concentrations From Remote Sensing Data

Masoud Ghahremanloo et al.

Summary: This study utilized the TROPOMI satellite instrument and Deep-CNN to estimate daily surface NO2 concentrations in Texas in 2019, achieving high levels of accuracy in correlation and agreement. The SHAP results demonstrated that the Deep-CNN model had an advanced understanding of the dataset, showing superiority in surface NO2 estimation. Comparisons with other machine learning and regression models revealed the Deep-CNN's superior accuracy, with support vector machines and random forest models ranking second and third, respectively, and multiple linear regression performing the poorest. Additionally, the Deep-CNN model required a larger sample size to demonstrate its strength in surface NO2 estimation compared to other models.

Simulation of surface ozone over Hebei province, China using Kolmogorov-Zurbenko and artificial neural network (KZ-ANN) combined model

Shuang Gao et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the influence of ozone precursors and meteorology on ozone pollution at different sites in Hebei province using a combination of KZ filter and ANN model. Results showed a strong correlation between meteorological factors, precursor concentrations, and MDA8 ozone levels. However, the ANN model had limitations in predicting ozone concentration peaks.
