A novel modification to boron-doped diamond electrode for enhanced, selective detection of dopamine in human serum

Haichao Li et al.

Summary: A novel modification technique was proposed to immobilize nanoparticles on a boron-doped diamond surface via nanopores, preventing aggregation and improving stability. The modified electrode showed good selectivity, increased peak current for dopamine, and enhanced sensitivity for detection, with a wide linear range and low detection limit. Real sample tests validated the promising performance of the modified electrode in detecting dopamine in human serum and injections.

High pressure high temperature synthesis of highly boron doped diamond microparticles and porous electrodes for electrochemical applications

Georgia F. Wood et al.

Summary: Crystallographically well-defined boron doped diamond (BDD) microparticles were synthesized under high pressure high temperature (HPHT) conditions using a metal carbide forming catalyst and an aluminum diboride boron source. The microparticles were doped to metal-like levels, contained negligible sp(2) bonded carbon, and displayed a large aqueous solvent window. A HPHT compaction process was used to create macroscopic porous electrodes from the BDD microparticles.

Porous single-crystal diamond

Junpu Wang et al.

Summary: The study presents a method for growing porous diamonds using high-pressure and high-temperature techniques, where crystal growth is driven by minimizing surface energy through attaching small crystals to a large seed crystal surface in a metal solvent. This approach enables industrial-scale production of single-crystal porous diamonds.

Nanoscale Reactivity Mapping of a Single-Crystal Boron-Doped Diamond Particle

Tomohiro Ando et al.

Summary: The study investigates the electrochemical properties of boron-doped diamond single crystal microparticles on different crystal faces, revealing faster electron transfer on the H-terminated (111) surface than on the H-terminated (100) surface, as well as significant differences between the O-terminated (100) face and the H-terminated (100) face. These differences are attributed to the removal of the H-surface conductivity layer and a potential-dependent density of states caused by boron doping.

A highly stable microporous boron-doped diamond electrode etched by oxygen plasma for enhanced electrochemical ozone generation

Fangmu Liu et al.

Summary: The study introduces a microporous BDD electrode etched by oxygen plasma (p-BDD) to enhance electrochemical ozone generation performance, with optimized etching parameters and significantly improved electrochemically active surface area and charge transfer resistance compared to bare BDD, resulting in 3.76 times higher ozone generation capacity under the same unit energy consumption.
