Association of Complicated Diverticulitis With Development of De Novo Inflammatory Bowel Disease

Asad Ur Rahman et al.

Summary: There is a potential risk factor for developing de novo IBD among patients with diverticulitis, especially those with complicated diverticulitis. The need for surgery related to diverticulitis and complicated diverticulitis were significantly associated with the development of IBD, with complicated diverticulitis being the main factor.

Oral Bacterial Microbiota in Digestive Cancer Patients: A Systematic Review

Elisa Reitano et al.

Summary: The relationship between gut microbiota and human health is recognized, and recent evidence suggests dysbiosis of oral microbiota may be related to digestive cancers. Studies have shown differences in oral microbiota composition between patients with digestive cancers and healthy individuals, especially in the case of colorectal cancer patients. Further research is needed to explore oral-gut microbial transmission patterns in digestive cancer carcinogenesis.

The Role of Enterobacteriaceae in Gut Microbiota Dysbiosis in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases

Valerio Baldelli et al.

Summary: This article discusses the significant contribution of Enterobacteriaceae to the pathogenesis of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs), particularly their role in exacerbating and progressing IBD. Despite the unclear mechanism, their expansion is associated with inflammatory responses, increased levels of nitrate and oxygen, and bile acid dysmetabolism.
