Lithium Nitropyrazolates as Potential Red Pyrotechnic Colorants

Alicia M. W. Dufter-Munster et al.

Summary: Strontium-based red pyrotechnic colorants have lost their reputation due to the harmful effects on adolescents. In search of replacements, researchers have utilized the energetic properties, safety, and combustion behavior of nitropyrazoles to design corresponding lithiated materials. Extensive characterization and assessment of these materials were conducted to evaluate their potential as alternatives.

Oxygen-Enriched Metal-Organic Frameworks Based on 1-(Trinitromethyl)-1H-1,2,4-Triazole-3-Carboxylic Acid and Their Thermal Decomposition and Effects on the Decomposition of Ammonium Perchlorate

Feng Yang et al.

Summary: This study synthesized two series of Energetic metal-organic frameworks (EMOFs) with different ligands and characterized their structure, thermal stability, thermal decomposition kinetics, and energy performance, showing a wide range of density and acceptable energy performance. Among these EMOFs, [Ag(tntrza)](n) stood out for its exceptional detonation performance and catalytic effect on the decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP), broadening the horizon for oxygen-enriched EMOFs with catalytic effects.

Construction of Layered High-Energy Materials via Directional Hydrogen Bonding

Yongan Feng et al.

Summary: This study introduces a novel strategy for designing layered high-energy materials by controlling the directional hydrogen bonding, allowing energetic molecules to stack layer by layer to form a target structure. The three substances designed using this strategy exhibit expected layered structures and demonstrate excellent insensitivity and detonation performance.
