A proposed method for third-party reverse logistics partner selection and order allocation in the cellphone industry

Sunil Kumar Jauhar et al.

Summary: This research focuses on reverse logistics in the field of EOL electronic products, with a particular emphasis on how to select third-party reverse logistics partners and allocate orders to them. By combining data envelopment analysis (DEA) with a differential evolution (DE) algorithm, the discriminatory power of 3PRLPs' efficiency is enhanced, and a multi-objective model is proposed to allocate orders to these partners.

Summary: Third-party logistics providers (3PLs) diversify their service portfolios to meet the increasing expectations of shippers, with peer 3PLs introducing new services driving focal 3PLs to expand their offerings. This relationship is stronger when there is greater similarity between the service portfolios of the focal firm and its peers.

A Hesitant Fuzzy Combined Compromise Solution Framework-Based on Discrimination Measure for Ranking Sustainable Third-Party Reverse Logistic Providers

Arunodaya Raj Mishra et al.

Summary: Enterprises are increasingly considering reverse logistics due to customer pressure, social responsibility, and government regulations, often outsourcing these practices to third-party providers. To select the most suitable sustainable reverse logistics provider, a new hybrid approach combining the Classical Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) method and hesitant fuzzy sets is introduced. This approach demonstrates efficiency and practicality in selecting providers under uncertain and multiple criteria.

Summary: This study examined the decision-making problem of selecting Sustainable Third-Party Reverse Logistics Providers for an Indian electronics company, proposing a novel integrated approach under the context of Single-Valued Neutrosophic Sets. The efficiency and practicability of this approach were demonstrated through a numerical case study, showing that it can recommend more feasible performance in dealing with indeterminate and inconsistent knowledge as well as qualitative data. Additionally, sensitivity analysis and comparisons with existing techniques highlighted the robustness and strength of the introduced method.

A Fuzzy Multi-objective Mathematical Programming Model for Project Management Decisions Considering Quality and Contractual Reward and Penalty Costs in a Project Network

S. M. Hashemi et al.

Summary: In this paper, a new mathematical model is proposed to handle conflicting project management objectives by simultaneously minimizing total cost and completion time while maximizing quality. Linearization techniques are used to convert nonlinear relationships between time and direct cost into a linear programming model. Fuzzy sets theory and fuzzy mathematical programming are employed to address uncertainty in parameters and variables. The modified version of fully fuzzy multi-objective linear programming is introduced to analyze a fully fuzzy time-cost-quality project management model with a practical example provided for illustration.
