Quantification of blood flow index in diffuse correlation spectroscopy using long short-term memory architecture

Zhe Li et al.

Summary: Diffuse correlation spectroscopy (DCS) is a noninvasive technique that can derive blood flow information from measurements of the temporal intensity fluctuations of multiply scattered light. The use of a long short-term memory (LSTM) architecture for quantification of blood flow index (BFI) in DCS has been shown to result in improved accuracy and faster computational time. This approach is especially useful for continuous real-time monitoring of blood flow.

Diffuse Optical Spectroscopy Assessment of Resting Oxygen Metabolism in the Leg Musculature

Scott E. Boebinger et al.

Summary: The study found that combining near-infrared spectroscopy with diffuse correlated spectroscopy can accurately measure the muscle oxygen metabolism index in the medial gastrocnemius of healthy adults. However, there is substantial variability in the calibration coefficient between this index and traditional assessment methods, indicating the need for calibration before each monitoring session.
