Coating the Right Polymer: Achieving Ideal Metal-Organic Framework Particle Dispersibility in Polymer Matrixes Using a Coordinative Crosslinking Surface Modification Method

Conger Li et al.

Summary: This study presents a generalizable method to modify various metal-organic framework (MOF) surfaces with different polymer materials and achieve a uniform sub-10 nm polymer coating. Experimental results show that when the surface polymer matches the matrix polymer, the dispersion of MOF particles is significantly improved.

Enhancing CF/PEEK interfacial adhesion by modified PEEK grafted with carbon nanotubes

Hanxiong Lyu et al.

Summary: The interfacial adhesion between carbon fiber (CF) and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) was improved by modifying the interface with hydroxylated PEEK grafted onto multi-walled carbon nanotubes. The modified CFs showed increased surface roughness, more polar groups, decreased contact angle, and increased surface energy, leading to enhanced wettability and improved physical adhesion, resulting in significant enhancements in the mechanical properties of the CF/PEEK composites.
