Non-stationary response power spectrum determination of linear/ non-linear systems endowed with fractional derivative elements via harmonic wavelet

Fan Kong et al.

Summary: This paper presents a wavelet-based method for determining response evolutionary power spectrum density (EPSD) of linear/non-linear systems with fractional derivative elements. The method utilizes generalized harmonic wavelets (GHWs) to transform stochastic differential equations into algebraic equations, and derives an analytical relationship between the excitation and response EPSD for linear systems. For non-linear systems, the response EPSD is estimated through repeated solving of algebraic equations. Numerical examples demonstrate the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method.

Fan Kong et al.

Summary: A method based on statistical linearization is proposed for determining the response of single-degree-of-freedom hysteretic systems with fractional derivative element subjected to combined periodic and white/colored excitation. The system response is decomposed into periodic and zero-mean stochastic components, and solved using numerical methods.

Non-stationary approximate response of non-linear multi-degree-of-freedom systems subjected to combined periodic and stochastic excitation

Fan Kong et al.

Summary: An approximate method is proposed for determining the non-stationary response of multi degree-of-freedom non-linear systems under combined periodic and stochastic excitation. The method involves decomposing the system response, transforming the equation of motion into equivalent coupled differential sub-equations, and solving them using numerical algorithms. Monte Carlo simulation demonstrates the applicability and accuracy of the proposed method.

Stochastic Response of Hysteresis System Under Combined Periodic and Stochastic Excitation Via the Statistical Linearization Method

Fan Kong et al.

Summary: A statistical linearization approach is proposed to determine the response of the classical Bouc-Wen hysteretic system with both harmonic and stochastic excitation. The method decomposes the system response into deterministic and stochastic components, and uses harmonic balance and statistical linearization methods to determine their Fourier coefficients and variance. Numerical examples demonstrate the applicability and reliability of the proposed method.

Survival probability of nonlinear oscillators endowed with fractional derivative element and subjected to evolutionary excitation: A stochastic averaging treatment with path integral concepts

Yuanjin Zhang et al.

Summary: This paper presents an analytical method for determining the stochastic response and survival probability of nonlinear oscillators with fractional elements under evolutionary excitation. The method utilizes the recently developed analytical Wiener path integral technique to transform the fractional-order non-linear equation of motion into an equivalent linear time-varying substitute, allowing for the derivation of a closed-form analytical approximation of the response joint transition probability density function. By combining the derived joint transition PDF and the discrete version of Chapman-Kolmogorov equation, the analytical solution for the non-stationary response and survival probability of the non-linear oscillator under the evolutionary excitation is obtained.
