This paper presents the results of an adsorption study on the alumina surface of molybdenum blue nanoparticles. It was found that the pH value significantly affects the quantitative parameters of adsorption. The Langmuir equation was used to estimate the capacity of a monolayer and the surface occupied by one molybdenum blue nanoparticle.
The paper presents the results of the adsorption study of the molybdenum blue nanoparticles (a precursor of catalytically active molybdenum carbide) on the alumina surface of different phase composition. It is shown that upon contact, a specific interaction occurs between nanoparticles and the surface of alumina, and the pH value has a significant effect on the quantitative parameters of adsorption. The processing of adsorption data using the Langmuir equation made it possible to estimate the value of the capacity of a monolayer and the surface occupied by 1 nanoparticle of molybdenum blue. Based on the results obtained, the conditions for obtaining catalysts based on molybdenum carbide with a different distribution of the active component in/on the support were established.
